About the Artists

Josh Rickard

Guitarist and Composer Josh Rickard is an Alberta born musician and has been writing music for over 25 years.  Over his career, his musical interests have crossed a wide breadth of genres and styles, including Celtic, Blues, Rock, Country, Orchestral, Electronic and Jazz music. His music is mainly instrumental and often explores themes of nostalgia, the prairie, rural culture, and nature. As well as composing for several solo and band projects, Josh also has written for film and documentaries.

Shari Chaskin

Shari is that ultimate voice who pulls at your heart strings with her rich warm tones, her tenderness and her passion for power and honesty. Shari features Jon Day with her in this dreamy and inspiring Duo, to bring forth their electrifying chemistry in a jazz and soulful style where you will hear many of their influences. All your favorite standards and more, everything from Gershwin to Gaga. Shari..from Les Miserables, is honored to have shared stages with Al Jarreau, Chantal Kreviasuk, Colin James, PJ Perry, Al Muirhead, Tommy Banks, Guido Basso, Sass Jordan, Oliver Jones and many more. Kim Szabo

Kim Szabo ( Piano, Vocals ) is a seasoned musician with a performance and recording resume that spans the globe from Tokyo, Japan to Berlin, Germany.  John Gray ( Bass ) John Gray has performed with Ray Charles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Dexter Gordon, Chet Baker, K.D. Lang, Lenny Breau, and many others.

Steve Williams

The Steve Williams trio is Steve on tenor sax, Marc Lamontagne on keyboard and Dan Barton on drums.  Steve Williams is one of the busiest sax players in town, and has been freelancing for over 25 years. He’s played regularly with blues master Gary Martin, rockers Dice Deluxe and The Rockin’ 58’s and Latino funk band Los Morenos. Notable among his recording credits was his participation in The Torchettes track “100 Days and 100 Nights” on the recent Calgary Folk Festival 40th anniversary compilation album release ” Cover Art”. He has always had a love of jazz, and is pleased to perform with his trio at the One Eleven Grill in Red Deer.  Marc Lamontagne, is a Calgary based Pianist/Keyboardist musician & composer who performs mostly in Calgary and the surrounding area and keeps active musical groups Silence In B’tween, The Rockin’ 58’s and the Steve Williams Jazz Trio and on occasion piano solo work. The other facet of Marc’s musical agenda is composing music; he records & produces his work either on a solo basis or in collaboration with local artists. It’s his hope that a CD will be released at the end of this year.  Dan Barton comes from a long line of musicians and performers. Cutting his teeth on country bar floors and early indie projects. Schooling took him to Red Deer College for study in Theatre, lighting and sound design before transferring over to music, majoring in performance and business. Since then, it’s been a long line of performances and studio sessions, working with artists such as Steve Arsenault, Samson’s Delilah, Roy Warhurst, C.R. Avery, Rachelle Van Zanten, the Dirrty Show, and many more. 

Andre Ludtke

Andrew Ludtke is a trombonist and music educator living in Calgary, AB. Andrew was born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta and starting playing the trombone in grade 6 band.  He is a graduate of Humber College and a former member of the Toronto All-Star Big Band.   Andrew is a versatile performer in many different styles: jazz, classical, R&B, latin, rock, funk, ska, reggae, and new age. Olga Osipova

Olga Osipova is an award-winning singer/songwriter/ pianist. A new Canadian, Olga grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia, and studied music in Germany.  Those diverse cultural experiences are well reflected in her music, which besides jazz is full with flavors of world, cabaret, and fine European chanson. Olga’s all-original debut CD “Velvet and Lace” won two BC Interior Music Awards (Best Jazz Artist and Album Design); her music received rave reviews from the press and was added to rotation on many radio stations in Canada and across the world (USA, Australia, Brazil, New Zealand, France, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Poland etc.) Olga performed at 2010 Vancouver Olympics, was announced Finalist in the 8th Annual Independent Music Awards, and received an Honorable Mention from the 17th Billboard World Song Contest.
